Mahabaleswar is a very popular hill station in Maharashtra.   It is very beautiful place in Maharashtra.  Mahabaleshwar is also known as the Queen of all Hill Stations.  It is the highest hill station in Western Ghats. This hill station is located at a height of 1,372m in the heart of Sahyadri Hills in Satara District. Mahabaleshwar is regarded to be the best holiday spot in Maharashtra in terms of environment, trips, sports, and other activities. Lingmala Waterfalls is one of the most absorbing sights in Mahabaleshwar. Wilson Point or Sunrise point is the highest point in Mahabaleshwar. Dhobi waterfall point is attraction of the hill station. One can enjoy a beautiful view of the sunrise here. Venna Lake, Elphinston, Marjorie and Savitri Points, Connaught Peak and Hunter Point, Arthur’s Point, Babington Point, Lodwick Point, Kate’s Point, Arthur’s Seat, Hanuman Mandir, Panchgani, Tapola, Krishna Temple and Pratapgad Fort are some of the important places of Mahabaleshwar.

Lonavala & Khandala

Lonavala also the most popular hill station in Maharashtra close to Pune and Mumbai, it is the place to be during monsoons and it is also part of the Sahyadri slopes. With lots of waterfalls, lakes and hills around, Lonavala is frequented by all sorts of people, especially hikers and trekkers. Some of the famous spot in lonavala includes Tiger’s Leap, Bushi Dam, Lonavala Lake, Imagica Adlabs, Rajmachi Fort, and Celebrity Wax Museum among others.   Khandala is one of the most popular weekend getaway for the people from nearby cities of Mumbai and Pune. It is set amongst the hills and valleys of the Sahyadri mountain range. It is situated 101 km southeast of Mumbai and 69 km from Pune. It is 5 km from Lonavala. It is a small hill station but it’s very good and fabulous hill station. The town provides a panoramic view of the lush green hilly environs. They can enjoy the beauty of this place by taking a walk around. It has a number of trekking trails around it

Bhandardara

Bhandardara is a hill station settled in the Sahyadri ranges of Maharashtra, has all the nature’s blessings a place can get. Bhandardara is a small hill station and a holiday resort located in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. But the lush greenery, the humble waterfalls and surrounded by high mountains makes for the perfect holiday spot for city dwellers. At a distance of 70 km from Nashik, 104 km from Shirdi, 157 km from Pune and 172 km from Mumbai, Bhandardara is a small hill station and a holiday resort located in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. The place is known for its natural beauty and its soothing environment. Main spots to visit in Bhandardara are Arthur Lake, Randha Waterfalls, Umbrella Falls, Bhandardara Dam or Wilson Dam and Amruteshwar Temple.

Matheran

Matheran hill station is one of the most scenic and serene hill stations near Mumbai. It overjoys travellers with unpolluted and refreshing environment. This is the only eco-friendly hill station in Maharashtra, certified by Ministry of Environment and Forests and the only automobile-free hill station in India. It is located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is about 90 km from Mumbai, and 120 km from Pune. Matheran is famous for its 38 viewpoints including Porcupine Point, Panorama Point, Echo Point, Charlott Lake, King George Point, Louisa Point, Monkey Point, Paymaster Park, Panthers’ Caves, Rambaug Point, Heart Point, among others are the some main tourist attractions in Matheran. Matheran also offers activities such as trekking, hiking, climbing, etc. The ride on the toy train which connects Neral to Matheran used to be quite famous but the service has now been discontinued temporarily.

Amboli

Amboli lies in the Sahyadri hills in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. It is a beautiful hill station located in the southern range of Sahyadri hills at a height of 690m above sea level. Amboli receives the highest rainfalls in Maharashtra and thus remains enjoyable all-round the year. It attracts a lot of weekend visitors from Goa and Belgaum. Hiranyakeshi Temple located in Amboli is very popular with pilgrims and visited year round. Hiranyakeshi Temple a holy shrine dedicated to the goddess Parvati near the hill station of Amboli.

Chikhaldara

The deep misty valleys of Chikhaldara has a new shade in every fold unwrapped. Chikhaldara (chikaldara, chikhaldhara) is located in Amaravati district of Vidarbha region. The only hill station in the Vidarbha region offers you an abundance of wildlife, viewpoints, lakes and waterfalls. Chikhaldara has many things to be explored. Chikhaldara is situated at an altitude of 1,118 m and has the added distinction of being the only coffee-growing area in Maharashtra. Chikhaldara is full of deep valleys, and these valleys are full of velvet mist and majestic trees. All this makes it a very popular summer retreat. With abundance of natural scenery, exciting wildlife, breathtaking waterfalls and a placid lake, the beauty of Chikhaldara is overwhelming. The climate is always breezy and walking on the clouds often becomes a reality.
