Samsung has now announced the Galaxy Tablet A 8.0 (2019), after the launch of the Galaxy Tablet A 10.1 (2019) last month. The tablet has currently been launched in the Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Vietnam, UK, New Zealand, Philippines among other countries. As for its price and availability in India, Samsung has not revealed that either.
Coming to the specs on the single-SIM LTE-supported Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 comes with an 8-inch WUXGA TFT (1920×1200 pixels) display which has support for S Pen input. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 also has a dedicated slot to house the S-Pen, which comes with IP68 rating for protection against dust and water. An octa-core Exynos 7904 14nm chipset powers the tablet with Mali-G71 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card. It comes with 8 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The camera on the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) supports AR emoji and stickers. It also encompass of modes such as live bokeh, live blur, and live beauty. The rear camera is capable of full HD video recording. Although the tablet has decent specs, it lacks a fingerprint sensor and also the face unlock. Design-wise, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) looks fine but it still has bezels around the screen. Samsung has made it sleeker, but it still lets go of screen real-estate.
Come to the connectivity option, the tab include WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, 4G LTE (Optional), USB 2.0, Bluetooth 5 LE, headphone jack, and GPS. The device also has a 4,200 mAh battery which is claimed to offer up to 11 hours of internet browsing and 11 hours of internet usage on a 4G connection.
